BrewDog is redefining the term ‘work drinks’ with its latest initiative, DeskDog, which will encourage both pint pulling and pen pushing at a number of its venues.
Remote workers across the UK are being invited to prop up the bar at BrewDog sites for as little as £7 – for which customers will be able to enjoy unlimited coffee throughout their working day as well as a pint of Punk IPA to toast a job well done.
Unveiling DeskDog on its website, BrewDog stated: “Hot desk, cold beer; our many remote staff often spend time dialling into their laptops in our BrewDog Bars, and we know many of you do so too. DeskDog makes that official.”
Desks can be reserved online for between 30 minutes up to the whole day until closing time.
The Scottish brewer and operator, which was revealed to be on course to expand to 100 sites this summer, will roll out its DeskDog scheme at its venues in Brixton, Shoreditch (both London) and Sheffield, as well as its new site in Paddington – which opened its doors on 15 March 2019 and includes a dedicated DeskDog area featuring power outlets, a printer and stationary.
BrewDog is expected to roll out the initiative to sites in Norwich, Cardiff and Edinburgh in the coming months.
The unveiling of DeskDog follows BrewDog’s recent launch of Local Tap, which sees two taps at each of BrewDog’s 43 UK bars dedicated exclusively to a local brewery as well as schemes such as its ‘Hugs4Snugs’ tap takeover initiative – which sees pubs encourage clothing donations for homelessness charities in exchange for beer.
