Business booster: Star Pubs & Bars launches new tool suite for T&L pubs
Heineken-owned pubco Star Pubs & Bars has announced a raft of new tools to help tenants and lessees increase sales.

The new resources are claimed to be easy to access and have been developed to help licensees boost sales and maximise their retail offers “in an increasingly competitive market”.

Tools include Business Builder, which can be used by business development managers (BDMs) along with the licensees to drive incremental sales growth.

Leased and tenanted sector

Star claims the tools are one of the most comprehensive in the leased and tenanted sector, created to address the five key areas the pubco believes to be impacting the pub trade.

The five areas are:

  1. More premium experiences
  2. A need to attract younger customers
  3. Increasing customer diversity
  4. A better food offer
  5. Wider availability of healthy food and drink options

“Business Builder utilises market data, category insight and industry trends to identify opportunities for licensees to attract more customers and increase the frequency of their visits and the amount they spend,” said Star.

“The tool has solutions for pubs of all types. It will be used by BDMs to prompt discussions with licensees during one-to-one meetings and lead to the development of tailored action plans.”

A range of revenue streams are covered by the support tool, including the major drinks categories, hot drinks, food, gaming machines and sports.

Fantastic package

The group’s managing director Lawson Mountstevens said: “The breadth of what customers want from pubs and the competition licensees face from the wider market have never been greater.

“This high-quality sales-building insight and support will help licensees of all kinds – whether experienced multiple operators or industry newcomers – to grow their top lines by tapping into customers’ changing expectations and delivering the right products, occasions and experiences for their pubs,” he continued.

“We’re committed to adding value to our licensees’ businesses and believe this is a fantastic package that will prove invaluable.”
