Balans Aqua Spritz is currently available to the on-trade and comes in two flavours – mandarin and lime – and comes packaged in a ready-to-drink 250ml cans.
It has fewer than 60 calories per can, is naturally flavoured, vegan-friendly and gluten-free. Kopparberg claims Balans proves there is “no need to miss out when the pressure to compromise is rife – yes, having the best of both worlds [alcohol and water] is finally here”.
Kopparberg head of marketing Rob Salvesen said: “We know people see social occasions where they might want to have a drink as an important part of their lives but often, drinks choices can be limiting."

He added: “Move aside vodka, lime and soda, Balans is refreshing, light in taste and is currently the lowest calorie 4% ABV drink of its kind available in its current 250ml serve.”
Last year Kopparberg entered the draught market with ‘black cider’. Kopparberg Black is an apple cider with a taste of blackcurrant and blackberry that is available exclusively in the on-trade and aims to deliver a premium addition to operators’ draught offers across the nation.
The new variant also looks to give drinkers an alternative to other draught fruit ciders currently on the market.

The new addition can be served from a black, stand-alone font, or font lens and tap handle, bespoke to Kopparberg Black.
The launch was part of a £6m integrated marketing plan throughout 2018, with the brand introducing its ‘Outside is Ours’ ad campaign in May.
At the time, Salvesen said: “The move to offer a premium draught variant feels like a natural progression for Kopparberg, with its current position as the best-selling premium packaged fruit cider in the UK on-trade.
“As such, we are extremely excited about the arrival of Kopparberg Black to our portfolio, not least being able to offer consumers a fruit cider on draught made to be more sessionable and a premium alternative to what is already on the market.”
