Cocktail bar brand Be At One has become an accredited training company with the launch of its own academy to give bartending qualifications to trainees.

The Be At One Bartending Academy was made an accredited training company with Highfield Qualifications in order to give trainees a professional accredited certificate.

The company has also received training accreditation with the World Flair Association (WFA), which offers ten grading levels.

Budding bartenders will take a three-week course covering cocktail making, free-pouring, product knowledge and WFA-accredited flairing.

They will learn to make more than 120 different cocktails and be given mental wellbeing support for working in the industry.

Worthy investment

Chris Lincoln, head of learning and development at Be At One, said tailored training was at the core of the brand and the certificate would help improve its standards.

He said: “Bespoke and extensive training has always been such a critical contributor to our success and is something we have continued to invest in.

“The launch of our Bartender Certificate through our Bar Academy is a big moment for us as we are proud to provide all those bartenders out there with the training and development needed to enhance their careers.

“This certificate, alongside our recent accreditation with the World Flair Association, will enable us to offer formidable development opportunities for our staff and exceptional service to our guests.”

Essential training

Jason Sprenger, chief executive of Highfield Qualifications, said the organisation was delighted to be involved in the "innovative initiative".

He told The Morning Advertiser: "High-quality training and development is essential today as businesses look for the edge in terms of competitiveness, and is a proven factor in helping both recruit and retain staff.

"We know the high standards that Be At One work to, and we’re proud to be supporting them in this programme that will give their budding bartenders the skills and knowledge to fulfil their roles with confidence, while also supporting their future career development."

Be At One is a Stonegate brand and operates 33 sites across the country.
