The Hungry Horse chain, which operates more than 200 pubs in Britain, is advertising a 'dream job' that involves drinking beer, eating food and hanging out with mates – while getting paid to do so.
Paid to drink beer
The Mill House pub in Stretton, Burton-On-Trent, east Staffordshire, is searching for a so-called ‘pub-licist’ to represent the company in return for a £500 salary.
As well as drinking on the job, the pub-licist will also be faced with responsibilities that will include watching sports and playing the odd game of darts, pool or snooker.
However, this job isn’t a long-term commitment, as the pub-licist will only have to visit their local Hungry Horse five times in order to claim the £500 offered.
After the lucky candidate has spent time in the pub, they will then have to report back to management with any problems or recommendations.
Dream job
Richard Bowen, general manager at the Mill House, said he looking for a “pub fanatic” to apply for the role.
“Nothing beats the atmosphere and camaraderie of a local pub – and it really is the guests who make it such a great place to be,” he added.
“We’re searching for a pub fanatic who just loves a trip to their local, to become our first ever pub-licist and help us become the best pub in the country.
“So, if you fancy taking part in a pub quiz, sipping on a cold beer or watching the big game – all while getting paid to do so, then we want to hear from you.”
Interested applicants should visit www.hungryhorse.co.uk/publicist before Tuesday 13 November, explaining their suitability for the role.
