Tim Martin is a Brexit hero, says Jacob Rees-Mogg

Rees-Mogg met Martin at the Palladium Electric in Midsomer Norton, 10 miles south of Bath, on Tuesday 18 September following the conclusion of a £2.8m project to develop the JDW site.

Discussing the new venue, Brexit plans and tax equality, Rees-Mogg said: “I am delighted to have visited Tim Martin’s new pub in my constituency.

“Tim is one of the heroes of the Brexit campaign and I can assure him that I am determined to deliver the vision for Brexit which he and I share.

“Tim is committed to securing a post-Brexit lower tax regime for the great British pub and I support him.

“Lower taxes are essential for stronger economic growth.

“I look forward to visiting the pub again and supporting its success.”

Martin added: “It was a pleasure to welcome Jacob to our new pub in Midsomer Norton.

“I am confident that the pub will be a great asset to the town and it will hopefully act as a catalyst for other businesses to invest there.

“I also took the opportunity to discuss the tax inequality that pubs face and our demand for tax equality with supermarkets, which we believe will provide a great boost for the British pub industry, as well as for high streets throughout the country.”
