The chain, popular for its ‘Instagrammable’ al fresco decor and exposed brickwork, will have a home on a new fifth storey of the centre in Kensington, West London.
The botanical themed venue will be enjoyable all year round, with glass ceilings and walls so scenic views of the city can be viewed even in rainy weather.
Alongside a large open bar, the 500-capacity rooftop will accommodate three independent restaurants, including seafood restaurant CLAW, burgers from Patty & Bun, and the Passo pizza kitchen.
Pergola Olympia has been delivered by the Incipio Group, which has pledged to hire staff from the local borough in order to support the community.
Olympia London was acquired through a joint venture of YOO Capital and Deutsche Finance International and is intended to undergo vast changes.
Diversity of businesses
Feedback from event organisers and visitors at the centre said entertainment and restaurant options needed improvement, leading to the £700m investment in expanding the diversity of businesses operational at the site.
The addition will be the first time the venue, which first opened in 1886, will have used its roof in this way.
The site will open on 27 September and will be open from Wednesday to Sunday.
The chain’s Paddington site will close this autumn for three weeks for a seasonal changeover and there are plans to open a site at the Royal Festival Hall.
