Entries for charity's hospitality awards soon to close

Entries will soon close for the Springboard charity awards for excellence in hospitality.

Hospitality organisations have been encouraged to enter the Springboard Awards for Excellence before the deadline for entries closes.

The awards highlight innovation and dedication in the hospitality business over the past 12 months.

Final deadline

There are 17 categories in total, including prizes for the best regional initiative, best use of digital media to attract talent, and the best chef development strategy.

Springboard helps equip young people with the skills needed to gain employment in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries.

The final deadline for companies to enter the awards is 17 August.

An awards ceremony will be held on 19 October at the Novotel London West to celebrate.

'Morale booster'

Anne Pierce, chief executive of Springboard UK, said: “There has never been a more important time to promote careers, attract talent and demonstrate best employment practices across our fabulous industry.

“So get your entries in for the 2018 Springboard Awards for Excellence, as it will soon be time to raise the roof and celebrate all the amazing initiatives and people across the industry who are doing outstanding work – to attract talent, to inspire young people, to offer work experience, to be the best apprenticeship provider, to develop people, to provide career progression or improve retention, to support local communities or to do something extra special."

She added: “There is no better morale booster than being shortlisted for an award, enjoying the ceremony and, who knows, even walking away with one of our coveted trophies!”

Previous winners include Hilton Hotels, the National Theatre and London Cocktail Club, but the awards are open to businesses of any size.
