Sporting history could be made this weekend

Tiger Woods returns to Augusta for the first time in three years and Manchester City look to wrap up the fastest ever Premier League title against their biggest rivals.

The Masters – Saturday 7 April from 7pm on Sky Sports Golf. Sunday 8 April from 6pm on Sky Sports Golf

The first major opportunity for a pub sweepstake comes in the form of the most iconic individual tournament in golf.

The big story this week has been Tiger Woods teeing off at The Masters for the first time in three years, however, he’ll have to navigate a field of contenders boasting both youth and experience if he’s to claim another green jacket.

His comeback coincides with returns to form for veteran rivals Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson while, at the other end of the age spectrum, Woods must rebuff the challenge of Rory McIlroy, Jordan Speith and Ricky Fowler.

Everton v Liverpool – Premier League football – Saturday 7 April, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League from 11.30am (Kick-off at 12.30pm)

After throwing everything short of the kitchen sink at Manchester City – and their team bus – during an impressive 3-0 Champions League win in midweek, Liverpool will look to close the gap on second place Manchester United with a win over beleaguered rivals Everton.

Everton, who have a terrible recent record against Liverpool, have won just one of their last 22 meetings and will be hoping Liverpool rotate their squad during their busy schedule. However, with Manchester United visiting the Etihad Stadium this weekend – and likely to drop points – it’s unlikely they'll risk missing a golden opportunity by doing so.

Jurgen Klopp’s free-scoring side has only dropped seven points since the turn of the year, are second only to leaders Manchester City in the goalscoring charts, and boast arguably one of the most fearsome attacking lines in European football – spearheaded by Mo Salah, who’s scored 29 Premier League goals this season.

Manchester City v Manchester United – Premier League football – Saturday 7 April, Sky Sport Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League from 5pm (Kick-off at 5.30pm)

Manchester City will become the first team in the Premier League’s 26-year history to wrap up the title with six games to spare if they win at the Etihad this weekend.

With the well-documented history between managers Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho adding another layer to the already bitter rivalry – sealing the Spaniard’s first Premier League title this weekend would gift ultimate bragging rights to the blue half of Manchester.

However, Guardiola faces a tricky balancing act ahead of the return leg of their Champions League quarter final against Liverpool. With his side needing to overhaul a three-goal deficit next week, will Pep sacrifice an early title win – sitting 16 points clear of United, it’s a matter of ‘when’ they seal top spot, rather than ‘if’ – in order to maximise their chances of progressing in Europe?

Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid – La Liga football – Sunday 8 April, Sky Sports Mix and Sky Sports Football from 3pm (Kick-off at 3.15pm)

While the La Liga title is beyond both Madrid sides this season, this rivalry has grown into one of the most watchable in Europe.

Atletico – spearheaded by former Chelsea hitman Diego Costa, who offers goals and fireworks wherever and whenever he plays – lead Real by four points in the league standings. Currently in third place, just one point above Valencia, is uncharted territory for Zinedine Zidane’s star-studded side.

Though they come into this weekend’s derby off the back of an impressive 3-0 win away at a notoriously hard to beat Juventus side – capped by a stunning overhead kick by Cristiano Ronaldo – this weekend’s clash is poised to be a far closer affair.

Chelsea v West Ham United - Premier League football – Sunday 8 April, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League from 4.15pm (Kick-off at 4.30pm)

Chelsea’s chances of a fourth-place finish, and Champions League berth, took a huge hit last weekend with their first home defeat to Tottenham in 28 years leaving them eight points adrift of their north London rivals.

Antonio Conte’s side will be desperate to turn the tide in their third consecutive London derby in the Premier League after five defeats in their last seven outings.

West Ham will be looking to build on the 3-0 win over Southampton last weekend that saw them take a huge step towards Premier League survival.
