New Lost Rivers pub home to first VR gaming arcade

Lost Rivers Brewing Co has teamed up with The VR Concept to launch central London’s only multiplayer virtual reality arcade, Gameboxx and Bar, within the brewer’s new Lost Rivers Elephant site.

Made from recycled shipping containers, Lost Rivers Elephant will contain the GameBoxx and Bar which is set to open its doors tomorrow (29 March) with London’s first and only Zone 1 multiplayer arcade.

To mark the site’s opening, The VR Concept and Lost Rivers will pit pub against pub in the first inter-pub virtual reality gaming tournament, with gamers from the site in Elephant & Castle, taking on punters from the World’s End pub in Brighton in four v four competition.

The games on offer at the site will range from sociable and light-hearted quest-based games to more competitive combat simulations as well as retro classics such as Time Crisis.

Bringing together past and future

Lost Rivers Elephant director Nick Cash said: “We are thrilled to be able to bring together the past and future of gaming at Lost Rivers Elephant, where guests can have the chance to experience brand new technology while enjoying their own childhood memories in classic gaming favourites. Really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Gameboxx.”

The VR Concept director and co-founder Anthony Nixon added: “We’re delighted to be able to partner with Lost Rivers Brewing Co, which gives us the opportunity to work with a well-known brand that has established a significant presence in London and across the UK.

“This is our first and only Zone 1 location, and we’re aiming to maintain a strong presence within Elephant & Castle, which is showing a significant amount of investment in building and infrastructure for the local area and people.

“The venue showcases a raw, industrial vibe that offers a truly unique experience for guests to enjoy gaming in all its glory, giving visitors a glimpse into the future and enabling them to immerse themselves in a virtual world.”
