Admiral Taverns invests £235,000 to reopen Grade II-listed Bristol pub
Licensees Gary and Lucy Clarke have taken the helm at the Waldegrave Arms and have "relished the challenge" of restoring this historic pub back to its former glory.
The pub, is a family friendly traditional country pub, which has undergone a full internal and external refurbishment to create a "warm friendly atmosphere for the local community", where residents can enjoy an extensive range of fine wines, excellent food, premium quality spirits and cask ales.
The pub will be serving locally sourced high-quality food with a bar snack menu, a mixed grill and steak menu on Mondays and a full seven-day-a-week dining menu which will include daily specials such as pork belly, lamb hotpot and a pie of the day. The Clarkes are also reintroducing a Sunday roast, which will be served to locals until 6pm in the evening.
Welcoming hub
Commentating on the refurbishment, the couple said: “This historic pub is believed to date back to the late 15th century and was thought to be a former church house where locals would gather together.
"We have loved the opportunity to re-establish the Waldegrave as a welcoming hub for the local area, staying true to its heritage, but ensuring the pub can offer a warm family welcome with delicious food and an extensive bar menu.
“We’re thrilled to be opening in time for the busy Easter weekend and we hope to see lots of familiar faces and hopefully some new ones as well.”

The pub will reopen on March 23.
