Pub pays tribute to staff member after Christmas Eve murder

A pub has paid tribute on Facebook to one of its staff members after her suspected murder on Christmas Eve.

A murder investigation was launched by the Metropolitan Police after the body of Iuliana Tudos was discovered in Finsbury Park, North London, on Wednesday, 27 December, by a member of the public.

Loved by everyone

Tudos worked at the Camden Underworld, part of the World's End pub, in Camden.

In tribute, the pub wrote on Facebook: “As we are sure everyone is now aware, words cannot express the sadness we feel at the news of the death of Iuliana Tudos.

“Julie, as she is known by us, was well loved by everyone in the greater Camden community and was a bright and caring member of our World’s End/Underworld family.

“We are all shocked by the events over the last few days and everyone at the World's End is grieving for the loss of our friend who will be deeply missed.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Julie's family at this incredibly sad time.”

Bubbly girl

A post-mortem examination took place at Haringey Mortuary on Thursday, 28 December, and gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the abdomen and a head injury, with further tests ongoing, said police.

Haringey Borough Commander Detective Chief Superintendent Des Fahy said that extra officers had been deployed for reassurance and that his officers had been engaging with local residents, community groups and traders.

"By all accounts, Iuliana was a bubbly, lively girl enjoying a fun life in London when she was tragically taken from her loved ones. Our hearts go out to them," he said
