Martin Baillie, who left Greene King this summer after 18 years, has joined TLC Inns as interim operations director, The Morning Advertiser's sister title MCA understands.

Baillie was most recently operations manager at Greene King, helping with the transition of Fayre and Square business to the Hungry Horse brand.

TLC Inns co-founder Steve Halsam has been in charge of operations at the group since the early part of this year, following the departure of managing director Noel Darcy.

Exploring options

Halsam told MCA he would stay in position for perhaps another year, before exploring options of a possible investment, M&A or sale in around 12 months’ time.

TLC operates fsx Grand Central restaurant sites and in August acquired a lease on its fifth pub, The Victory on Mersea Island, near Colchester, in Essex, its first new site in five years.
