BrewDog launches new high strength spirits into LoneWolf portfolio
LoneWolf Gunpowder Gin has a 57% ABV is infused with Szechuan and black peppercorns, bitter orange and star anise.
As a gin and tonic, the spirit is best served with a slice of orange peel and freshly ground black peppercorn.
Alternatively, it can be used in a Martini with a dash of white vermouth, wet-shaken over ice before straining and serving with a twist of orange peel and a grind of black pepper.
The other tipple is Single Malt Barrel-Aged Vodka, at 42.7% ABV, which has been aged in a charred American oak barrels for 11 months.
Best of both worlds
BrewDog has said the 100% malt barley tipple takes on the personality of whisky for “the best of both worlds”.
The vodka enters the cask unfiltered and the char of the barrel clarifies it naturally. Over several months, it becomes smooth with the oak delivering a Bourbon-like warmth of vanilla and coconut.
Best served neat over ice or, for a longer drink, add a dash of ginger beer and serve with a squeeze of lime over ice.
Both spirits are available from BrewDog’s online shop and in its UK bars.
Crowdfunding scheme
Meanwhile, the Scottish brewer and operator has passed the £5m mark in its latest round of crowdfunding scheme, Equity for Punks.
BrewDog, which is valued at more than £1bn, launched the fifth round of the initiative in October and has raised half of its initial target of £10m.
The fifth round of Equity for Punks is looking to raise the £10m, with the potential to extend to £50m, by releasing 421,052 shares.
BrewDog also offered dogs the opportunity to become ‘shareholders’ in the company last month (November).
Equity for Pups is an initiative that was an extension of BrewDog’s latest round of its Equity for Punks crowdfunding scheme.
