#Collabfest returns to BrewDog UK and international bars

Craft brewer BrewDog has joined forces with 34 craft breweries in the UK and Europe for its annual, multi-venue craft beer festival #Collabfest.

Up-and-coming independent breweries from across Europe will team up with staff at selected BrewDog bars to develop and brew a new, limited-edition beer. All the collaboration beers will then be released at the same time in every participating bar.

#Collabfest 2017 will be the fifth and biggest to date, taking place simultaneously in 34 BrewDog bars across 25 cities in the UK, Sweden and Germany from Friday to Sunday 20-22 October.

New styles and twists on classics

UK breweries involved in the festival include Siren Craft Brew in Berkshire, Bristol’s Lost and Grounded Brewers, and Northern Monk Brew Co in Leeds.

BrewDog co-founder James Watt said: “Every Collabfest is a chance to celebrate the cleverest, most creative and crazy beer minds out there. This is our biggest #Collabfest to date, and it’s exciting to see what amazing new brews have been developed as part of the project!

“It’s also awesome to have five of our international bars on board for the first time. Sweden and Germany are home to some of the most passionate beer fans in the world, and their brewing scenes are offering some incredible new styles and twists on the classics. Having seen the beer list, 2017 is a year not to miss.”

“With the number of new independent breweries growing each year in the UK and Europe, BrewDog’s #Collabfest is every beer geek’s opportunity to sample a huge array of small-batch craft beer from the top independent breweries.”

Pushing the boundaries

Siren’s marketing manager Andy Nowlan added: “We had a blast brewing Ten Dollar Shake with BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush last year; it went on to become one of our biggest hits of the year! This time out we’re pushing the boundaries of beer once again with our good friends at BrewDog Clerkenwell.

“The team were full of ideas and laid down the gauntlet to see if we could come up with a recipe that successfully recreated the effect of cookie dough. We can’t wait to see our beer roll out across the BrewDog bars later this month!”

BrewDog is currently gearing up for a fifth round of crowdfunding to fill a £90m gap in funding requirements as it seeks to become a £5bn company within the next five years.
