TripAdvisor reveals new features for pubs to enhance their listing

Pubs and restaurants can now take advantage of new attributes on the TripAdvisor website that allow users to alter details about their businesses.

The features include an option to change the details website users can see on a desktop computer and mobile phone/tablet for free.

This allows operators to quickly update information including contact details, location, hours, dishes and features/amenities alongside customer support with ease.

The review site, on desktop format, now allows registered owners to seamlessly view their pub’s current live content, see a summary of recent reviews, monitor performance trends and access or address important alerts.

Premium service

At the beginning of this year (January), TripAdvisor announced the launch of new premium features service for pubs and restaurants on its website.

The subscription package, TripAdvisor Premium for Restaurants, gives operators access to a range of analytical and review management tools.

This includes the ability to highlight ‘favourite’ reviews and pin them to the top of their page, access to analytics that deliver aggregated performance, customer and competitor data and priority phone support from TripAdvisor staff.

TripAdvisor senior vice-president of global sales Robin Ingle said: “Providing a business with the opportunity to improve its content and customise its presence on TripAdvisor helps partners better understand and engage with their customers.”

Differentiate listings

The review company also announced the launch of Storyboard, a feature that allows operators to turn static photos and reviews into a visual presentation.

Premium for Restaurant subscribers can also now differentiate their listing by sharing their ‘top three reasons to eat here’ with prospective diners.

This allows operators to choose and promote three attributes, which set their pub apart and aim to entice new customers.

Meanwhile, in July, TripAdvisor partnered with Deliveroo to create a global ‘one-stop shop’ for diners.

The feature allows pubs to utilise their TripAdvisor listing to engage with customers planning to dine out and those wanting to dine in.
