The pubco, which operates sites in south London, said that it plans to keep the site open for the next few months before closing it for a multi-million pound refurbishment.
Details of the refurbishment are still to be finalised as the site is Grade-II listed and the operator is yet to acquire listed-building consent. But Three Cheers confirmed it planned to spend more than £2m on the site and intended to keep the strong comedy and live music offer that is currently in place.
Calling the acquisition as a “huge milestone”, pubco co-owner Tom Peake said that the site would be a strong addition to the company’s existing portfolio.
