Proud Camden announces partnership with Burger Bear

Proud Camden has ploughed £300,000 into a renovated rooftop garden and unveiled a summer-long collaboration with fast-food concept Burger Bear.

The four-year-old London bar will serve a selection of Burger Bear's food on the revamped English country garden-themed terrace, which is described as a “lush oasis of calm” set high above the hustle and bustle of Camden Market.

Burger and beer deal

Angry bear, which is a cheeseburger topped with relish and hot pepper sauce, and Grizzly Bear, a cheeseburger containing oak-smoked bacon and bacon jam, are among the options that will be sold every day between midday and 11pm as part of a £10 burger and beer deal.

Wines and spirits will also be available alongside cocktails including British Summer, a blend of Gordon’s Gin, Crème de Menthe, cucumber, apple juice; and Peach Old Fashioned, a mix of Gosling’s Rum, passion fruit syrup and peach purée will be on sale for £9.50.

Full refurbishment

The venue, which first opened 12 years ago and was formerly a horse hospital, aims to target locals, after work drinkers and tourists.

Other features of the refurbished rooftop include full decking, a landscaped rockery, water attractions, an updated lighting and sound system as well as new toilets.
