Westons has expanded its portfolio with a new cherry-flavoured cloudy cider – Rosie’s Pig Rusted Wheel.

The new flavour joins Westons’ Rosie’s Pig cloudy cider range flavours: Flat Tyre Cloudy Cider with Rhubarb and Handbrake Cloudy Cider with Damson, which were launched a year ago as limited-edition products.

The three-strong range is now being launched on a permanent basis to the premium on-trade following its success last year.

Slowly matured and left unfiltered, Rosie’s Pig Rusted Wheel comes in a 10-litre, fridge-friendly, bag-in-box format at 4% ABV.

Rosie's new look

Westons has also redesigned its original 4.8% ABV Rosie’s Pig Cloudy Cider in a bid to reinforce its position as a premium refreshing cloudy cider with broad appeal.

Rosie's Pig brand manager Tim Williams outlined the reasons behind the new flavour and the rebrand.

He said: “We are very excited to be bringing Rosie’s Pig Rusted Wheel Cloudy Cider with cherry to the market and to be launching the whole Rosie’s Pig Festival range of ciders on a permanent basis.

“The Rosie’s Pig Festival range flavours of rhubarb, damson and cherry will help to add further growth to the cloudy cider category, bringing in new drinkers across all age groups.”

Heritage and expertise

He added that the cloudy cider market as a whole was in strong growth.

Williams said: “Westons used heritage and expertise to successfully launch the Rosie’s Pig brand four years ago as a new refreshing alternative entry point into cloudy cider with a lower ABV of 4.8%.

“The latest addition to the Rosie’s Pig brand, the festival range of flavoured cloudy ciders, introduces three flavours with a distinctive craft look and feel, which will appeal to a different drinker and drinking occasion.

“Both Old Rosie and Rosie’s Pig ciders are slowly matured and left unfiltered to give them their authentic flavours.”
