From berries to Pan-Asian, the gin and tonic does not have to stick to the rules when it comes to bringing a little excitement to the genre, as shown in this how-to video by Diageo on-trade consultant Rob Poulter.
The five twists on the classic G&T are:
Gordon’s Garden G&T
- Tall glass filled with ice
- 50ml Gordon’s Gin
- 75ml tonic water
- 75ml cloudy apple juice
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of fresh rosemary
Tanqueray Elderflower T&T
- 6–8 fresh mint leaves
- Spanish copa glass glass filled with ice
- 50ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
- 25ml elderflower cordial
- Topped with tonic water
- Garnish with a mint sprig
Pink TT&T
- Spanish copa glass filled with ice
- 50ml Tanqueray No.10
- Topped with tonic water
- Splash of fresh pink grapefruit
- Garnish with a wedge of fresh pink grapefruit
Berry T&T
- Copa glass filled with ice
- 50ml Tanqueray London Dry Gin
- Topped with tonic water
- Splash of cranberry juice
- Garnish with two fresh raspberries and a slice of fresh strawberry
Pan-Asian T&T
- Spanish copa glass filled with ice
- 50ml Tanqueray Rangpur
- 25ml lime and lemongrass cordial
- Topped with tonic water
- Garnish with a wedge of fresh lime and a stalk of fresh lemongrass
