Young's closes Burger Shack & Bar site

Young’s has closed its standalone Burger Shack & Bar in Wimbledon after just under a year of trading, MCA has learnt.

The site – in Church Road – will revert to its original name of the Five Stables from next month.

However Young’s chief executive Patrick Dardis told MCA the decision did not affect future plans to add Burger Shack kiosks across the existing esate.

He said: “We are about to open five more Burger Shacks in our pubs with gardens. That was always our intention and still is. We have another 20 opportunities identified.

“The Fire Stables was an experiment with a standalone Burger Shack, never planned to go beyond this one standalone site.

“It just confirmed our strategy that it works best as an addition to our pubs with gardens.

“We are always prepared to experiment.”

The offer for the re-opened Fire Stables is described as ”predominantly a seafood restaurant serving lunch & dinner 7 days a week and breakfast/brunch on Saturdays & Sundays. Alongside the fresh fish offer will be amazing steaks and a Sunday roast to rival the best.”
