Publican Awards Winners: Best New Pub / Bar sponsored by Heineken - The Club House, New World Trading Company

Looking like it’s dropped straight from the east coast of the United States of America, and rising up from the shops, flats and restaurants that make up Liverpool One, the New World Trading Company’s (NWTC) Club House is a venue the company is rightly proud of.

Built from scratch on a previously under-used patch of land, this is a bar that has been embraced by the city of Liverpool and has already become something of an institution in a city that doesn’t lack for exciting and dynamic venues and operators.

This 600 cover venue  is a real one-off within the NWTC estate, and is unlikely to be repeated anywhere within the business, but

it offers a great example of how a company can realise an impressive vision and turn it into a smash-success. Styled on a US Hampton’s beach mansion, the venue centres round a bespoke chandelier in the hallway, created with more than 60 individually suspended wine glasses.

Already outstripping its financial performance expectations, this is a powerhouse of an operation and, with the innovative introduction of a range of six cocktails on draught giving it the ability to serve several cocktails a minute, it’s showing no signs of slowing down.

The drinks range across the board is impressive and entertainment is provided nightly, with plans to utilise the extensive outdoor space even further in the summer with a full on, Jools Holland style music festival in the pipeline.

The addition of a temporary marquee has helped add extra opportunity during the winter months, with the NWTC team looking to host cinema nights, and also bring in vintage bar games to add more fun to the mix.

In a short space of time, this is a pub that has already established itself as an institution at the heart of the city – an impressive accolade in it’s own right.
