First football silverware of the season to be settled

The EFL Cup final takes place on Sunday afternoon, and this weekend will also see the return of the RBS 6 Nations to pub screens.

Rugby union: Scotland v Wales (Saturday, 2.25pm) - BBC 1

With one win each so far in this year's RBS 6 Nations, both Wales and Scotland are still in with a chance of winning if England slip up. However, the loser of this match can very much give up any designs they may have had on the 2017 title. Like all Six Nations matches, the game will be on terrestrial television, meaning that all pubs with a TV – regardless of subscriptions to sport services – can show the match.

Rugby union: England v Italy (Sunday, 3pm) - ITV

The following day will see England attempt to maintain their record-breaking run by putting Italy to the sword. On paper, this should be the easiest game of England's title defence, but they will need to be focused.

Football: Manchester United v Southampton (Sunday, 4.30pm) - Sky Sports 1

It may 'only' be the EFL Cup (aka the League Cup) final, but nothing beats securing silverware before any of your rivals. That is what both Manchester United and Southampton will be hoping to achieve at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. The first 20 minutes of the game will overlap with the end of England's rugby match, so pubs will need to have a plan about which match to show at certain times and warn customers before switching channels mid-match.

Football: Leicester v Liverpool (Monday, 8pm) - Sky Sports 1

Dilly-ding dilly-dong, Claudio Ranieri has gone. How will Leicester fare without their title-winning manager? People will be looking to find out in the pub bringing with it a welcome boost to Monday night's trade.
