Disney pub crawl pairs drinking and dressing up

Glasgow's pub scene will be awash with Disney fans who will dress up as their favourite fairytale characters for a magical pub crawl in March.

The event comes from the organisers of the Pokémon Go pub crawl last summer, where gamers drank and 'captured' Pokémon at the same time.

Last year, venues included Saint Judes bar and kitchen, where owners were delighted to be one of the stops on the crawl as it was located directly opposite a Pokéstop – where gamers can collect virtual characters.

Tickets sold out for the UK's first Pokémon Go pub crawl last year after more than 1,000 people signed up to the event on Facebook.

Pub crawl plan

This year's Disney event will take place on Thursday 9 March and will follow a similar format to the Pokémon Go crawl.

Groups will be setting off every 15 minutes with wristbands and will receive drinks promotions in each of the pubs on the route.

Tickets for the crawl are £5 and reserve drinkers a space in one of the groups and a hot buffet, according to the event's Facebook page.

Prizes are also up for grabs for the best costumes, including Disney Store merchandise and cinema tickets for Beauty and the Beast.

Everyone loves Disney

One of the organisers JJ Rendrag told Glasgow Live that deciding to have a Disney-themed pub crawl was easy.

He said: "Everyone loves a bit of Disney, it always brings a bit of fun and we highly encourage dressing up."

The Disney-themed crawl proved so popular this year that tickets sold out in just 50 minutes and organisers have confirmed a second date for another crawl on Friday 10 March.
