The Extra range is available in 7mm, 10mm, 12mm and 15mm cut sizes to offer flavours in a range of cut sizes with the perfect crunch.
The 10mm also has its skin still on for more rustic menus or for more variety with a classic cut size.
The fries include an allergen-free coating to give the perfect crunch while giving operators with the need to cater for consumers with dietary requirements.
‘The fry operators can rely on’
The range is also pre-fried in 100% sunflower oil.
UK and Ireland marketing manager Nic Townsend said: “Extra is the fry that operators can rely on for taste, texture and heat retention and this is paramount in fast-food outlets.
“Consumers expect hot fries when served and for that heat to remain while they eat their meal.
“This range is well suited to casual, fast-casual and take away menus as well as being ideal for hotel buffets where products need to stay tasting their best.”
Creating consistency
He added: “Extra offers a wide choice of thicknesses as well as a skin-on option so that fast-casual operators can offer a variety of cut sizes from one range.
“We know how important it is to create consistency in a chip offering and have launched Extra to satisfy the requirement for skinny to extra chunky without moving outside of a range they trust.”
Fries are under the spotlight currently after the Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued a warning about the possibility of cancer-causing acrylamides.
The FSA has warned that raw potatoes should not be stored in the fridge if they are intended for roasting or frying.
