New World Trading Company
New World Trading Company (NWTC) walked away with two awards at the 2016 Publican Awards. The company, however, missed out on the Best Pub Brand/Concept award despite being shortlisted and will hope to go one better this year. This is one of an impressive six categories that the operator has been shortlisted for this year.
Sports Bar & Grill
Sports Bar & Grill was the operator that fought off fierce competition from NWTC and others to win Best Pub Brand/Concpet at the 2016 awards. At the time, editor of The Morning Advertiser, Ed Bedington, said: "This is a great example of a traditional concept being turned on its head."
Stonegate Pub Company
Stonegate is another company that will be hoping to go one better after being a finalist in this category in 2016. The company has seven formats of pubs, all of which have a distinctive style – from community-centric 'proper pubs' to modern high street venues under the Town Pub & Kitchen moniker.
The Draft House
Ten-strong operator Draft House has a selection of very distinctive venues in London and, in 2016, the company opened its first site outside of the capital. The company aims to promote beer drinking as an art across its estate and is enjoying rapid growth through this concept.
