Jonathan Ross to host 2017 Publican Awards

Iconic chat show presenter Jonathan Ross has been announced as the host of the biggest night of the year for the pub industry.

Having won three BAFTAs (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) for Best Entertainment Performance and having regularly hosted the annual British Comedy Awards, 'Wossy' is no stranger to awards, but this March will see him host the Publican Awards for the first time.

The Publican Awards recognises the best in every aspect of the pub industry – from the best brewing pub companies to the best late-night operators – and this year saw a record number of entries.

This year's edition of the awards will take place at Battersea Evolution, London, for the second year in a row. The 2016 awards at that venue was hosted by Michael McIntyre and almost 1,400 people from across the industry attended the event, which saw a successful world record attempt for the world's largest beer tasting and a huge variety of bars and activities, but this year looks set to be even bigger.

Editor of The Morning Advertiser, Ed Bedington, said: "We’re delighted to be able to announce that Jonathan Ross will be hosting this year’s Publican Awards. This is the stand-out event in the industry and it’s a real pleasure to know it’s going to be in the incomparable hands of one of the UK’s top entertainer and host.

"The awards are shaping up to be bigger and better than ever and I, along with Jonathan, look forward to seeing you there on the night."
