The event — A Barrel of Laughs — will consist of six comedy acts throughout the night and the brewery will serve a range of its ales.
Wimbledon brewery sales director Richard Coltart said: “The comedy night is all about coming down, having a good time, being with friends and family, having a few beers and enjoying some great comics.”
‘A bit of good cheer’
Coltart added: “With the news from around the world at the moment we thought everyone could do with a bit of good cheer, so we decided it was an opportune time to throw our inaugural comedy night.
“This will hopefully be a monthly event in the brewery, which we hope will build.”
He added: “Most people haven't actually been to a working brewery and, incidentally, not watched comedy in it. We wanted to give people the opportunity to come and see what we do whilst enjoying some great entertainment on the night.”
Tickets are on sale through the website for £7.50, if purchased in advance, or £10 on the door.
‘A unique space’
The brewery makes the most of its ‘unique space’ by hosting a series of events throughout the year, including the Six Nations Rugby matches.
The south-west London brewery also runs beer appreciation event every last Saturday of the month for visitors who wish to learn more about the world of beer, its history and the science behind the brewing.
The company also offers a five-course lunch in the brewery as well as a flight of beers.
Wimbledon Brewery will also be hosting the Institute of Brewing and Distilling’s (IBD) British Hop Awards in January 2017.
