Local MP backs new Punch pub development

Malton MP, Kevin Hollinrake, joined staff and regulars at the Royal Oak pub to celebrate its £180,000 makeover by Punch.

The Royal Oak has been part of licensee Emma Milson’s family for 19 years, with her parents originally running the North Yorkshire pub.

The investment has transformed the pub’s appearance both inside and outside, including full redecoration, new carpets, curtains and furniture. Also, the kitchen has been updated, toilets replaced, new signage and lighting, and even a new smoking shelter.

“It’s great to see the Royal Oak getting the investment it deserves,” Milson said.

"We’ve had some great comments from our regulars who love the new look and we are looking forward to introducing a food menu in the new year too.”

Local MP Kevin Hollinrake said he had been pleased to meet the team: “The investment in the Royal Oak is great news for the town.”

Punch new business development manager Rebecca Davies said: “The Royal Oak is ideally located in the centre of the Malton attracting a broad range of customers with its welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.”
