Teesside pub creates gut-busting 8,000-calorie kebab 'sandwich'

A pub notorious for creating huge eating challenges has unveiled its latest gastronomic creation – a perilously unhealthy parmo and kebab sandwich.

The George, Stockton, is offering the £13.95 sandwich, which contains a massive helping of kebab meat stuffed between two cheese-smothered butterfly chicken breasts as well as a pile of chips and salad.

Diners are allegedly being asked to sign a form saying they won’t sue if they have a heart attack, with bar manager Craig Harker telling the Mail Online that the George would “pay for a taxi to the hospital”.

The pub has gained a reputation for its eating challenges. It recently offered a gigantic 'Trump Burger' – and American half-pound burger topped with bacon, cheese and Thousand Island sauce, separated from Mexican chicken fajitas by a wall of hash browns.

And, last year, the pub claimed to have broken the world record for the biggest Christmas dinner by creating a £70, 23lb challenge.

The festive feast contained a 5lb turkey crown, 2lbs of mashed potatoes, 1lb of turnip and swede mash, 30 sprouts, 30 broccoli florets, 15 cauliflower florets, 40 carrots, 35 parsnips, 25 roast potatoes and 30 balls of stuffing.
