BrewDog plans biggest festival yet with small-batch brewers

Plans for Scottish brewery-operator BrewDog’s annual ‘collabfest’ have been announced with 19 cities taking part simultaneously

The festival, which takes place between 21-23 October, sees small breweries paired with a local BrewDog bar to create a limited edition beer. These brews are then showcased during the festival at all 27 BrewDog bars across the country.

The event is the fourth of its kind and some of the top craft brewers in the country are taking part, such as Cloudwater, Fyne, Siren and Brew By Numbers.

The brewer is using the hashtag #Collabfest2016 to promote the event on social media.

Beacons of craft

Tracy Lee, head of marketing at BrewDog, said: “#CollabFest2016 is our chance to give new beacons of craft a platform to shout about the exciting beer they’re creating. We love beer, and we’ve chosen independent breweries who love it as much as we do.

“The festival is the public’s chance to taste the most exciting new creations in craft. This beer game is all about being collaborative, sharing expertise, throwing people together and seeing what gems they come up with, and we’re nothing short of psyched to test this year’s eclectic range of 'badass' brews.”
