“You can drink rum neat, mixed and in cocktails,” explains Peart in this exclusive video. “There are lots of different ways you can enjoy it.
‘Buttered rum’
“Even at Christmas we’re doing a Havana Club buttered rum. So alongside the mulled wine operators usually serve at Christmas, we’re doing a different take.”
Spirits as a whole are growing in the on-trade and it is, therefore, important operators take the opportunity to learn how the uptick can affect their business at the Future Trends: Spirits event in London on 3 October, Peart added.
“Spirits is in tremendous growth in the on-trade and I think it’s interesting for all operators to see where the category is going and how they can make the best of it.
“Liquor in the on-trade is in decline and spirits are growing at 3% and that’s mainly to do with premium spirits.”
