The annual awards celebrate excellent beers from around the world and judges come from a wide range of backgrounds.
These include brewers, writers, retailers and publicans who carefully selected the winning beers. Each beer was judged on its aroma, taste, appearance and finish.

Widespread recognition
Senior brand manager at Sharp’s James Nicholls said: “We’re extremely proud of our growing portfolio of brands and it’s fantastic to have received such widespread recognition from a highly respected awards panel. These beers really showcase Sharp’s special brewing techniques and capture our uniquely Cornish heritage.”
Sharp’s unleashed Sea Fury bottled special bitter earlier this year in response to increased demand for Sharp’s Special cask ale. It is inspired by the stormy Atlantic sea near the brewery.
The brewery also launched a limited edition festive brew, Nadelik for Christmas last year. The name came from the Cornish word for ‘Christmas’.
History
Back in 2014, the Cornish brewery launched Atlantic Pale Ale, which was a new golden ale that was its first permanent cask beer since 2005.
Sharp’s was founded in 1994 in Rock, Cornwall, by brewer Bill Sharp who made it his mission to make exceptional quality beer on the north Cornish coast. With a small microbrew plant and an ambition to brew 500 pints a week to pay the mortgage, Sharp’s Brewery was born.
