Partnership
Hunky Dory Pubs launches first site
The new venture, Hunky Dory Pubs, is one of five partnerships in Enterprise Inns’ estate and was formed in May this year.
The Beech House pub, Solihull, received a joint investment from both pubcos of £1.2m and the site, which is 660sq m, includes a city garden with trees along with pergolas and outside terraces.
Internally, the pub has a theatre-style open kitchen with a Josper charcoal oven to help create the Mediterranean-style menu offered by the Oakman Collection.
Milestone
Enterprise Inns CEO Simon Townsend said: “The opening of our first Hunky Dory site marks an important milestone in the development of our Managed Expert model. We’ve worked closely with Peter [Borg-Neal] to find the right venue and create the perfect retail offer to ensure the business will thrive.”
Oakman Inns founder Peter Borg-Neal said: “We are delighted to get the first Hunky Dory site open and I am confident that the Beech House will be a huge success as our first-class team of people and excellent concept provide all the ingredients for a compelling consumer offer.
“We were presented with a great building to work with and I believe we have managed to make the best of it.”
Future sites
He explained four more potential sites for Hunky Dory Pubs had been identified and the group were working with Enterprise Inns to find more.
Hunky Dory Pubs is the fourth managed expert partnership for Enterprise and the pubco has undertaken partnership deals to work with industry-leading managed house operators.
