He said: “I then injured my left arm and thought, what can I do with one arm?”
It was here that the arm wrestling tournament idea was born.
Brook is extremely passionate about the concept and is prepared to contribute towards the prize money.
Equipment
But the 56-year-old isn’t worried just about himself with the money that is made from it as the fee he receives is usually put back into the company to buy new equipment for the evenings.
He added: “I am not worried about me but it gives the pubs and the customers more money.
“Customers can eat and drink at the venue so it is win win for everyone.”
Beckenham-born Brook sends out posters and an introduction letter to prospective pubs and advises them what to do.
“I tell them to speak with the customers and see if they are interested.
“Then I explain that we need at least 15 people who are willing to participate.”
Future
But Brook has set his sights high for the future of the upper-limb based fun.
He revealed: “My big plan is to do leagues and to have at least two to three thousand people involved and the prize money can then grow bigger.
“In America and Spain it is starting to take off.
“Lots of venues and lots of people are taking part and it is coming through on YouTube.”
