Pub's barred list goes viral: "Don't serve the flat cap coke fiend!"

A former iconic music pub’s unconventional list of barred customers has resurfaced as the venue looks set to reopen as food-ledpub.

The list of unwelcome customers at The Half Moon in Herne Hill, London, before it closed in 2013, has been shared on Twitter by Rumers, as the building looks set for a new lease of life.

Staff are urged to be wary of the staring pervert who comes in a crash helmet and always drinks ale.

The list includes warnings against serving the “flat cap coke fiend” who was barred for threatening regulars.

Bar staff are also urged not to welcome “the ginger drunk called Angus”, “crazy Linda” or “Micky two suits” to the Half Moon.

But the list wasn’t enough to keep some plucky drinkers out, as Shaun managed to sneak in on Sunday, according to the list.

The Half Moon's new owner, pubco Fuller’s, has come under fire from local campaigners fighting to reopen the pub as a music venue, after it submitted a planning application proposing that the area for music be removed and replaced with a larger kitchen.

Southwark council, however, approved the plans at a meeting last week (5 April 2016).

Fuller’s has argued that it will be making a substantial investment in the Half Moon and aims to ‘create a wonderful pub the local community can be proud of’.
