Enterprise pub enjoys 1,000% growth in food sales

A pub that was transformed into a destination dining venue reported a 1,000% growth in food sales over two years.

Dry trade at the Hampton, Richmond, skyrocketed after 27-year-old head chef and general manager Geo Bassani took over its kitchen in 2014.

Bassani said: "Our food offer at the Hampton is something we're all very proud of and has really put the pub on the map.

"Continually receiving positive feedback from customers, online and in person, and being recognised through award schemes makes us want to keep doing better and better."

Gourmet

The pub, which won a Good Food Award in 2015, regularly hosts gourmet, pizza and steak nights for customers.

"One of our most popular food events is our gourmet night. Tickets for the last event sold out in just four hours," added Bassani.

The chef was recently nominated by Twickenham MP Dr Tania Mathias for the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group and British Beer and Pub Association's Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year awards.

Excellence

The pub is currently ranked on TripAdvisor as the best restaurant in Hampton and is set to receive a certificate of excellence.

Mark Lewis, regional manager at Enterprise, said: "The recognition speaks for itself – the way this venue has been transformed by Geo and the team is phenomenal. The Hampton has become a must-visit for food."
