The north-east brewery, working in partnership with the Beer Academy, hopes to train the beer experts in the first half of this year, and announce fully accredited sommeliers in the summer of 2016.
Camerons director and general manager Chris Soley said: "With the addition of the Head of Steam pubs to our managed group two years ago, it was always our intention to use this a catalyst to develop an innovative and exciting pub group.
"Key to this is the people that work in our venues, hence why we are always looking for opportunities to develop their skill further."
Quality and knowledge
The brewery aims to have at least one sommelier working at every managed venue in a commitment to beer standards, quality and knowledge.
"The investment in this training is significant but we believe it is essential to offer customers a truly unique experience when they enter one of our pubs," Soley said.
"It is great working alongside The Beer Academy to deliver this training to our staff in our pubs, along with members of our marketing team, and we are sure this will help both our pubs and own beer brands as a result."
Scale
The Beer Academy's director of training Alex Barlow said this is the first time the group has been approached to run a project on this scale.
"There are only 107 accredited beer sommeliers in the world and it is great to see a brewery like Camerons looking to further enhance the customer experience at their venues," Barlow said.
"The Beer Academy is delighted to be working with Camerons with the objective of training a group of passionate Head of Steam bar managers up to Beer Sommelier level together."
Camerons plans to continue to work with The Beer Academy on an annual basis to develop and train further employees to become beer sommeliers.
