TripAdvisor tops line-up for this month’s MA300 event in Newcastle
Topping the bill is a senior figure from review site TripAdvisor who will be covering best practice and top tips on how to best deal with customers online.
The MA300 is the Publican’s Morning Advertiser’s club for multi-site managed pub owner/operators across the UK. The club meets three times a year for a day-long business briefing, packed with industry insights, case studies and expert opinions, followed by an evening study tour.
The Newcastle event takes place at the Assembly Rooms and speakers include:
- Gwenael Merlin, director of partnerships at TripAdvisor, on best practice in handling online customer reviews and how the site works with pubs
- Punch Taverns’ development director David Wigham will provide a scene setter for Newcastle and the north-east pub market
- Award-winning gastropub owner and MasterChef: The Professionals finalist John Calton will carry out a tasting session and talk about the value of local sourcing
- Simon Stenning from M&C Allegra Foodservice will analyse key trends in the foodservice sector for pubs
- Panel discussion on how operators can best manage their digital footprint, featuring a number of the club’s commercial partners
- Peter Borg Neal, founder and CEO of Oakman Inns, on seeking perfection in food. Peter will be highlighting his quest to introduce excellence to his menus
- Leading butcher Aubrey Allen will be talking about key trends in meat, cuts that can add real value to the bottom line, while Nestlé Professional will showcase innovative ways of using those cuts on your menu
- Licensing expert Richard Arnot will examine the impact of the late-night levy in Newcastle, introduced last year
Panel discussion featuring top local operators on the challenges of standing out in a crowded marketplace and the unique attraction of Newcastle
The full agenda will be finalised shortly.
PMA editor Ed Bedington said: “The MA300 is the leading networking event for multiple pub operators and we’re delighted to be laying on another first-rate line-up for our Newcastle visit. Not only will delegates have the opportunity to get some key insight from one of TripAdvisor’s senior directors, they’ll get the chance to discover what makes one of the UK’s liveliest drinking-out scenes tick.”
Multi-site pub operators among M&C Allegra subscribers are entitled to two free tickets.
