In pictures: BrewDog's dead donkey stunt

BrewDog has aimed to cement its reputation as a ‘maverick’ brewer by inviting guests attending the launch of its much-anticipated Brighton bar to arrive on a dead donkey.

Visitors can flag down the novel mode of transport by tweeting with #TaxidermyTaxi and be carried straight to the door of the Brighton venue.

The stunt is supposed to be a riff on the classic seaside donkey walks, although donkeys are usually more associated with Blackpool than Brighton.

BrewDog co-founder James Watt said: “We’re delighted to be launching in Brighton, and what better way to get locals in the door than personally delivering them there with a donkey Taxidermy Taxi service. We always like to fit in with the culture of our latest venue’s city with suitable BrewDog irreverence.

"Tradition is great, but not as good as something with an extra kick of eccentricity, a rule we also apply to our beers. The Taxidermy Taxi rides are great for people looking to take in the Brighton scenery from an interesting vantage point, and we’re delighted to be able to open our unique cab rides for the opening weekend of the bar.”

The taxidermy donkey is the latest stunt for the taxidermy obsessed brewer. Earlier this year, the Scottish group threw stuffed cats out of a helicopter and have previously poured beer out of a deer’s head.

BrewDog is continuing its march across Europe and will officially open the doors to its third Swedish location later this month.
