Heineken has launched a new marketing campaign for its John Smith’s ale brand that literally reaches the stars. The company has acquired the first ever pint shaped constellation, made up from 100 stars in the night sky, and is giving drinkers with extraordinary talents the chance to own one of them.

The online campaign is part of the brand’s Only Ordinary by name campaign and invites those who are ordinary by name, but possess extraordinary talents, to upload a short video of them showcasing their special skill to www.johnsmiths.co.uk, to be in with a chance of winning their very own piece of the universe.

The competition is live now and will continue over the summer supported by social, digital and PR.

Trooper 666

Robinsons Brewery has released a new brew, Trooper 666, in celebration of the sale of its ten millionth pint of Trooper.

Available October 1st Trooper 666 is a 6.6% ABV version of the Trooper ale, created by Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickenson.

Dickenson said: “Our fans have been asking for a stronger brew and it seemed only right to do this at 6.6% ABV!”

Carlsberg Jacobsen

Carlsberg UK has launched Jacobsen craft beer to the UK market in two variants, Jacobsen Saaz Blonde and Jacobsen Velvet. Pubs, bars and restaurants nationwide will now be able to stock the ale range, named after the founder of Carlsberg, J. C. Jacobsen.

Jacobsen Saaz Blonde is a 7.1% ABV beer brewed according to Belgian traditions using Czech Saaz hops, which contribute to a fruity aroma and dry notes of angelica root, clove and coriander, while Jacobsen Velvet is a light golden 5.9% ABV ale that is soft, bubbly and sweet - without bitterness, with a vinous aroma and fruity notes.

Jacobsen Saaz Blonde is recommended with white fish and moulded cheeses, while Jacobsen Velvet pairs perfectly with seafood dishes.

Wadworth's Dirty Rucker

Wadworth’s specially brewed Rugby World Cup real ale, Dirty Rucker, has achieved strong advanced sales and listings with major distributers Punch Taverns, Heineken and Molson Coors.

The beer is a 3.9% ABV rich ruby English bitter, fruity on the palate with a malty sweetness and peppery finish.

Dirty Rucker is the first in a series of special brews by Wadworth tying in with sporting events across 2016 including Euro 16 and the Rio Olympics.

Portobello Brewing Company

Portobello Brewing Company is brewing up a new ale for the Notting Hill Carnival, Carnival Pale.

Proceeds from sales of the beer will go to four charities selected by the London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust. The charities will be: The Ebony Steel Band Trust, the NSPCC, Leukemia Care and the Sickle Cell Society.

The brew will be officially launched at an event at The Cow (Westbourne Park Road W2) on August 4 featuring DJs Gaz Mayall (of Gaz's Rockin' Blues) & Cow resident Harlem Redneck.

Carnival Pale will be available at pubs and bars across London until September and can be found during the carnival at the bars around Gaz's Rockin' Blue's Soundsystem.
