Great British Pub of the Year winners Susie Clarke and Joel Czopor’s new site the Gipsy Queen, Kentish Town, officially opens its doors to the public on Friday 26 June.

Ahead of the launch, Czopor announced that the new site, an Enterprise free-of-tie lease, would be more food-led than the Grafton, their award-winning site next to Kentish Town underground station.

Tom Humphries, head chef at the Gipsy Queen, said: "I like drawing on my past experiences of working for the Gordon Ramsay group and fine dining establishments - I've taken the techniques and inspiration but made it into food that we can do in a pub."

The Gipsy Queen’s menu features starters such as guinea fowl with polenta and leeks, roasted scallops with apple cucumber and crispy seaweed and smoked tongue with pickled red onion and potato mustard cress.

Mains include salmon with cucumber and fennel, Barnsley chop with spring onions and rosti and chicken with spring greens and smoked bacon as well as a daily changing pasta dish.

Desserts available include the Chocolate Bombe, a chocolate sphere with vanilla ice cream and hot salted caramel sauce and the Gipsy Knickerbocker, raspberry jelly with ice cream, whipped cream and toasted nuts.

The bar menu is also available, featuring snacks such as a “Dingley dell” sausage roll, English charcuterie with capers and bread and “The Gipsy” duck fat chips.

The Gipsy Queen is currently open for customers this week whilst the finishing touches are given to the site and is offering 50% off food with reservations until the official launch on Friday.
