Awards
ALMR Operations Managers Awards 2015 launched
The competition tests the skills, enthusiasm and professionalism of the UK’s best operations managers and pitches the very best against the very best. The Awards reach beyond pubs and bars and incorporate all aspects of licensed hospitality including the late-night and casual dining sectors.
The original winner of the first award was Stonegate Pub Company chief executive Simon Longbottom when he worked at Mill House Inns - testament to the role the competition plays in spotting and nurturing talent and helping to develop future leaders.
The finalists undergo a day of assessment in the field, a grilling by two judging panels and attend a three-day strategy and leadership masterclass. The winners are announced at the ALMR Christmas Lunch on 17 December.
Last year's winners were Menesh Modhwadia of New Inventive Pub Company and Darren King of Greene King Pub Partners.
Talent
ALMR chief executive Kate Nicholls said: “Pubs, bars, nightclubs and restaurants are great at identifying and encouraging up-and-coming talent. The ALMR Operations Managers Awards exists to recognise, reward and to help develop this talented pool of individuals who lead success at the sharp end of our industry and we are very proud to continue nurturing and rewarding this talent.”
