Wild to woo wine drinkers with new elderflower-flavoured spritz

Wild Drinks is to capitalise on the trend for lower ABV alternatives to wine by introducing an elderflower-flavoured spritz.

Available at the end of this month, Wild Elderflower Spritz is a sparkling, perry-based drink that includes a dash of gin.

With an ABV of 5.4% per 250ml serve, the pre-bottled spritz is much lighter than a glass of white wine.

All that is needed to create the drink is a tall wine glass, ice and a slice of lime, Wild said.

Wild Drinks is the creation of Dorset farmer Jonathan Wallington, and the label design includes a wild hedgerow to reflect the heritage of the brand.

Wallington said: “Upon tasting, straightaway you get a burst of refreshing summer flavours. The sparkling Perry-based drink has a delicate floral elderflower flavour, with a dash of gin for added depth and intrigue.”

He added: “The vibrant spritz market is currently undergoing vast growth in the UK both on trade and off trade. Our Elderflower Spritz offers a new dynamic with its elegant branding and delectable sparkling liquid.”
