The two pubs, based in Bath and Headington respectively, were commended for their exceptional cellar standards and top-notch beer keeping.
Paul Hitchcock, licensee at The Butcher’s Arms, said: “It’s an amazing honour to be awarded this status. This is our first venture running a pub and has been a steep learning curve. We all work really hard to ensure that our customers have a great experience with each pint.”
The Huntsman manager Lizzie Callard paid tribute to her team, saying: “It’s great to be recognised. But it’s a real team effort, so I’d like to thank everyone at the pub, because it’s not just the quality of the cellar, it’s about the service that you receive.”
To be in with a chance of winning the award, tenants must consistently score over 96% across four visits from the Fuller’s beer quality team throughout the year.
Over 200 Fuller’s pubs have achieved the Master Cellarman distinction, with 1,500 inspections undertaken each year to discover the worthy recipients.
