The new flavours, Elderflower Lemonade and Ginger Beer, have joined Cloudy Apple and Rhubarb as part of Cawston’s move into adult soft drinks and long-term investment in the category by the brand’s owners.
The Cawston Press Ginger Beer features two types of ginger blended with pressed apple juice and the Elderflower Lemonade is made by extracting directly from the flowers using a simple water infusion, blended with squeezed Sicilian lemon juice and sparkling water and purports to be just 99 calories per can.
Cawston Press’ sales director, Dan Broughton said: “With our first two cans, we’ve already proved that there’s significant demand for premium, grown-up, soft drinks – ones that are devoid of artificial ingredients, preservatives or laden with sugar and artificial sweeteners. We also already know that 9 out of 10 people in Britain include carbonated soft drinks in their repertoire – with a fast-growing number of them motivated to buy ones with better quality, natural and non-artificial ingredients or flavourings. We’re going to be instrumental in growing this new tier of premium canned carbonates.”
All Cawston Press products only use pressed juice that has come from fruit picked at prime ripeness and pressed within 48 hours – and are made using no concentrates, artificial sweeteners, preservatives or colourings.
