Westons launches five new limited edition ciders

Westons Cider is set to launch five limited-edition still ciders including three flavoured ciders and two traditional ciders.

The three 4% ABV flavoured ciders will be released across the Old Rosie brand and include: Old Rosie Cloudy Cider with Rhubarb, Old Rosie Cloudy Cider with Elderflower and Old Rosie Cloudy Cider with Cloudy Lemonade.

The two 6% ABV traditional ciders include: Henry Westons Single Orchard Still Cider and Henry Westons 1880 Still Cider.

Geoff Bradman, Westons head of sales, said: " We are bringing genuine innovation to the category with a premium, still, flavoured cider range which will appeal to a broader consumer group."

The ciders, which will be available from the beginning April until the end of the summer to take advantage of festival season, will be launched into pubs and bars in a 20L bag-in-box format with a retail price of £3.50 per pint.

Westons also revealed plans for its broader multi-million pound campaign which will see the cidermaker move away from TV advertising and begin outdoor mobile and digital media advertising to boost the presence of its entire range to consumers.

"This year, we will be investing £6m in engaging with the consumer," said Ian Lewis, head of marketing at Westons Cider.

"We have extended our contract with England Cricket to 2007, supporting Bristol Harbour Festival as a key partner and supporting Gloucester Rugby and the Barclaycard Arena too. Our Mortimer's Orchard brand will be the official cider of Taste of London this year and, included into all of this, we see 2015 as a year for raising awareness, driving trial and building education in cider."
