Surf's up for Cornish lager Korev and Surfing GB

Korev Cornish Lager will be the official beer of Surfing GB, the national governing body for surfing in Great Britain.

As part of a three-year deal, St Austell Brewery will support Surfing GB through its Korev brand, and will form a key role in Surfing GB competitions.

Jeremy Mitchell, St Austell Brewery marketing and communications director, added: “Cornwall and Devon are synonymous with surfing and the beach lifestyle so Surfing GB is a perfect fit for the Korev brand.

“With its strapline ‘Cornish Lager with Soul’, Korev is an authentic, high quality lager brewed with Cornish-grown lager malt and has already gained a strong following among surfers around the South West. By supporting Surfing GB we can contribute to the exciting, fun sport of surfing whilst introducing Korev to new audiences across Britain.”

Korev has also been named the supporting sponsor for the 2015 Interclub and National Surfing Championships.

Alex Williams, Surfing GB director, said: “As Surfing GB develops and gains strength, it’s imperative that we have the support and backing in place to achieve our goals. The relationship with St Austell Brewery’s Korev Lager does just that.”

Korev is the traditional Cornish word for beer.
