Camerons launches new beers to celebrate 150th anniversary

Camerons, the Hartlepool-based brewer and pub operator, is to celebrate its 150th anniversary this year with a collection of new beers – which come complete with innovative pump clips.

This will include the anniversary special 5% “Camerons 150” red ale which will be available on limited release during selected months of the year. The range also includes Camerons first collaboration brew with London based brewer Portobello.

Martin Dutoy, head brewer at Camerons for over 25 years, said “Camerons will have two permanent beers for 2015. These are the brewery’s flagship Strongarm ‘Ruby Red’ and also the newly developed Gold Bullion. Following the creation of this brand last year a new improved version of Gold Bullion has been introduced. Now brewed at 3.9% this beer, brewed using both Columbus and Cascade hops, has a clean refreshing citrus taste.

"We have created a collection of 12 guest beers aimed at showcasing the brewery’s skill and versatility with styles as varied as red rye beer, milk stout and American Pale Ale – all aimed at giving the modern drinker great choice and quality. There really is something for every discerning beer drinker."

Tactile clips

To support the range Camerons has also developed a set of new tactile pump clips, including a ‘fridge magnet’ clip, which allows the licensee to create their own beer name with magnetic letters. There will also be an ‘A-Hop-Alypse Now’ pump clip with a set of dog tags attached, while the ‘Shotgun Wedding’ American Pale Ale comes complete with a spent shotgun shell.

Northern Line Stout, which has been brewed in collaboration with Portobello Brewing Company, includes flashing lights and the Halloween themed Thirst Blood pump clip comes complete with a moving cleaver.

Marketing manager Yousef Doubooni said: “With the huge variety of cask beers now available it is vital the pump clips stand out on the bar and we are hopefully this fun and innovative range of designs coupled with our fantastic new beers will prove popular with our customers.”
