JD Wetherspoon is reducing the price of a range of meals and drinks from 5 to 22 January.
Meals in the sale include chicken wraps, jacket potatoes and a Wiltshire-cured ham, eggs and chips dish.
Drinks on offer are Carlsberg, Coldwater Creek, Gordon’s gin, Jameson whiskey, Stowford Press and Thatcher’s Gold cider, as well as a selection of real ales. In some cases, drinks are available for just £1.59.
JD Wetherspoon chief executive John Hutson said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in our pubs too.”
“The range of drinks and meals on sale is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes and we are confident the January sale will prove popular with our customers.”
M&B brands
Mitchells & Butlers (M&B) is holding ‘Blue X’ sales at its O’Neill’s and Sizzling Pubs sites throughout the month.
At O’Neill’s, five different meals are being offered for £4.99. Gammon steak and eggs, sausage and mash, Wiltshire ham and eggs, lasagne, scampi, and vegetable curry will be on promotion until 13 February.
Sizzling Pubs is going one better by offering five different meals for just £2.99.
Dishes include gammon steak and eggs, sausage and mash, Wiltshire ham and eggs, steak and ale pie, fish and chips, and Quorn lasagne.
Its All Bar One brand, meanwhile, is offering customers who sign up to its newsletter 25% off food and drink in January.
All Bar One is also promoting a £7.50 ‘make or break’ meal and drink offer, where customers can choose to ‘make’ their new year’s resolution with a choice of healthy options such as quinoa and edamame bean salad or ‘break’ their resolution with indulgent treats, including a classic homemade beef burger.
Half-price mains
The Whitbread-owned Beefeater chain is offering customers a half-price mains voucher for up to six people. The voucher can be used a multiple number of times up until Friday (9 January).
The Draft House is holding a January sale across its seven London sites. It is offering 20% off all food orders, and customers can get a pint of cask ale, Draft House London Pilsner, Hoxton Cider or a glass of house wine for £2.75, or a Victory gin and tonic or pint of Pilsner Urquell for £3.75.
Single-site operators have also been getting in on the act. The recently refurbished Star Inn, in Normans Bay, East Sussex ran its first three-day mini sale from 2 to 5 January, offering three courses for £10.
For its second mini sale, which runs 12 to 15 January, customers can get a free starter and dessert with each main course.
